A very busy Christmas Open Day
The Christmas Open Day at TSSC Headquarters proved to be another notable success
Despite the drizzly weather, the atmosphere was lively, and the car park displayed a good selection of Triumphs, reflecting the enthusiasm of members. It was particularly encouraging to welcome so many first‑time visitors. The scale and breadth of exhibits at the HQ facilities can only truly be appreciated in person, and those attending for the first time said how impressed they were with what they discovered.
Chairman Chris Gunby conducted three guided tours of the premises, providing a valuable insight into the exhibits. Highlights included the never‑registered, low‑mileage Stag featured in the November issue of the Courier, the only factory‑built Vitesse Coupe, and the four‑door Herald prototype, alongside an extensive collection of memorabilia. The tours reinforced the fact that a guided visit remains the most effective way to experience the museum.
The shop, managed by Di and Nigel, also enjoyed a busy day. While online ordering remains convenient, the opportunity to examine items before purchase, and be able to take the items away with you, clearly adds to the appeal.
Lisa and David, with help from Tracey and Christina, laid on quite a spread for lunch. As well as the usual spread of salads, crisps and mince pies, there was also chilli con carne and sausage casserole available, both of which were well received and sold out by the end of the day.
Overall, the event demonstrated once again the strength of the TSSC community and the continuing popularity of these open days.
