Brittany 2026 – well what a resounding success. Thanks to Steve Woollet & Guy, Lorraine Adams and Julian Clutterbuck we had an amazing time at the beginning of June. Starting at Plymouth, several cars were stopped for inspection, we must have looked suspicious. The weather was not perfect but that did not deter us, though more top down motoring would have been appreciated. 22 cars and a Honda Cub bike with 44 people staying at the Hotel de Chateau at Josselin. Drives out each day with most participating to great venues, a tour of the Chateau du Josselin, a visit to the fantastic Manoir de L’Automobile at Loheac and the 3000 monoliths at Carnac stretching over 4kms. Awesome! We met the international Porche Club gathering there which was a great sight. Some made their way to the beach where we had evidence of Stephen Horswell taking a dip! Fantastic driving on great roads with scarcely a pothole, through forests and open countryside and nearly all our cars behaved themselves at least until we reached Blighty when gremlins struck a few. Furthest travelled were Neil & Sarah from Staines and Jason & Elaine from the Isle of Wight, followed by Steve & Sue Jones from Dorset. We all survived a rocky return ferry trip and are all itching to do it all again in 2028! Then a heat wave! So very hot at Darts Farm on Fathers Day. I was delighted to be awarded 3rd Best in Show with my Herald which repaid me by breaking down on the way home! Vapour lock caused by 4 miles stop start in 1st gear after a nasty looking accident between Clyst St George and Clyst St Mary. A knight in shining armour pushed us out of the way and 20 minutes cooling down and she was fine again.
