South West, Devon Area news
April in Devon 2026
We were joined by our lovely Danish members, Lilian and Morten Hildebrand, once again staying with Tim & Dawn Hills, who brought the Burlington along. We will see them again in July. Steve H came along with his brother, and a rather stunning Stingray. A good number of Triumphs out too, featuring Stags, Herald Coupe, Vitesses.
Drive it Day was so well supported by our members again. Thanks again to Jon C whose lovely route we followed from Bovey Tracey over Dartmoor for a photostop and then on to Postbridge Village Hall where we were joined by a further contingent of cars from North Devon. Once again we were joined by Devon members of the Stag Owners Club. A lovely day and drive, marred slightly by one Stag ‘failing to proceed’ with a dodgy alternator and coil, and a Spitfire travelling solo who picked up a nasty puncture. The village hall committee excelled themselves, despite a small hitch with accessing the venue! A huge variety of cars out, but the standout for me was the stunning factory built Burlington Arrow of Dennis & Jill. In some cases at the start venue, colours were parked two by two – two Magenta Stags, two BRG Vitesses, and two Valencia cars. Cornwall TSSC Area were spied too on the moor – they were having lunch at the Two Bridges Hotel which we passed twice on our travels.

A large contingent from Devon travelled to the Isle of Wight Triumph weekend again, this time 17 people and 5 week old Molly Richardson. Met up with ex members and old friends Allan & Jackie Prowse who brought cake! Lovely drives over the island, including the much loved Military Road, plenty of food and drink too. Already reserved our caravans for 2027 – will YOU come with us?
