We joined six other TSSC Devon cars at the North Devon Festival of Transport at Bideford at the beginning of August. A lovely show in a great location in stunning weather. Discovered the Stag had used 1.5 litres of water on the 70 mile trip up and investigation showed a leaky rad. Not impressed as this had been recored only a few years ago by a radiator firm locally. A few Club cars at the Rover P4 Group show – a very well organised show again. Always nice to be at South Devon Railway and John took our Herald to Aveton Gifford, another great little show. Then to The Star for our monthly meeting and, despite several regulars being on holidays, and the evenings now drawing in, we had ten cars in the car park. [pic 1] With the Stag radiator, thanks to RadWeld, still holding out, a lovely Dartmoor drive from the House of Marbles for the South Devon contingent, with the North Devon folks starting at Darren’s. Trusting that the weather would be better at Bridestowe. We set off in torrential rain and met up with 4 other Triumphs for the run. [pic 2] Jon C had once again found a great route for us and we met up for a photoshoot on the moor.[pic 3] Very unusually, we had two 1960 Herald Coupes on the run. We met up with a large number of North Devon cars at Sourton, before following Miles and Angela to their home. [pics 4 and 5] Along with the promised sun, they had laid on a wonderful tea for us all, which was much appreciated along with our picnics. The rain returned to scupper most of the outside games but most of us had a dry run home. A smashing day out.
