Meet the Team

Carol Coventry - PL26 8DX

Well Here I go again! I was A/O for Cornwall in 1994 to 2002. I have always been an active member of the Cornwall Area, joining them at the Camping Weekends and Christmas Parties during my absence years as being a non-member of the TSSC. Over the past 22 years of owning Triumphs I have had tremendous fun and made many friends along the way.
My first purchased was a 1500 Spitfire 604 XKX in Tahiti blue in 1995. This car was totally rebuilt by my husband and myself. It was used as my everyday car for work as a NHS Support Worker in Maternity Services, for doing the school runs and of course pleasure. Over the years of owing this Spitfire, we travelled all over Cornwall and drove the car to Ireland for a week’s holiday with other club members from Cornwall and other areas. (See issue 234 of the courier) As the children were growing away, they both got too big to fit in the back! So then came along my second purchase of a 1360 Herald Saloon YHY 107J in White. A Quick overhaul and it was back on the road for my travels to work, school runs, rallies and shows. My Son and Daughter would always ask me what car I would be using to pick them up from school, really don't know why! Or was it something to do with a conversation I was having with my son’s best man to be. He said about how he could remember the times, I would pick them all up from school in the Herald, how they loved the very springy back seats! The years went by so quickly and both children not wanting to join their parents in triumphing adventures they had their own adventures in life to plan and do.
So the 1360 sold to a fellow club member and a purchase of a TR6 DHU 444K in signal red. A lot of fun had another trip to Ireland and tours around Cornwall. Sadly family matters came to arise and the TR6 was sold and for me, five years of being triumph-less, but still remained very good friends with all Cornwall members joining them when I could.
In 2009 I re-joined the TSSC and bought another 1500 Spitfire COD 54OT in Pageant Blue from Newquay Cornwall. This time though the car was fully restored and ready to be used. Over the past seven years I have travelled far covering around forty thousand miles. Having the advantage of both children fleeing the nest, it’s time to spread my wings! Important parts in my life are my family and friends. I do try to kept a good balance of work and play. I would certainly appreciate any hep with organizing future events and the running of the Cornwall Area. I do hope for many more years of Triumphing, but apart from that sharing it with all good friends from TSSC, other clubs and non-club members.
Looking forward to meeting you all, and hearing all about your adventures with your Triumphs.
Safe Motoring
Carol
