E.Sussex July News

Hi all. Another surprising meeting in our second new meeting venue in the last few months and another record turnout, 19 people with a few triumphs in the car park, thank you for all who came. I think the pub was pleasantly surprised.
In May we had seven various Triumphs in a convoy on route to Leatherhead after we all met at Pease Pottage, a really good day, one of our members won best Bond apologies for not remembering your name, and I myself won best GT6 which was a surprise, as always a high level of cars.
Geoff has just bought and fitted a good second hand bonnet for his Herald and it came in the right colour to match his car, His old bonnet has been passed down to Pete to go on his Herald shed, that will be a huge shock to the car though.
Last month Clive and Gill went up to the Highlands of Scotland in their Spitfire, the first few days were trouble free, then all of a sudden they were out and the Spitfire developed a terrible vibration, so bad they couldn't drive any further, Clive though it was possibly propshaft UJ, But couldn't be sure without a ramp, anyway contacted his insurance breakdown service, it took a shift  of three recovery trucks and about a day to get them home, pretty much straight away at home, he found it was the propshaft UJs, soon fitted new ones, up the road for a test drive, but, on his return trip to home he had under dash wiring loom fire, again another trip home but this time he was due to be going to Spa for a few days, so no time to repair the Spitfire, so he took the Toledo and it provided travel free motoring there and back,  well done Clive I admire your enthusiasm.
On Saturday July 20th, Richard has organised a small drive out around the countryside , with a stop off at a pub for lunch, then onto C C K .Historics at Highhurst Wood for a tour of their premises with tea and coffee provided, for those of you who don't' know about CCK.  they do any form of work on classics, body, paint work, all mechanical and engine rebuild . tuning works, they also have a rolling road, and a museum in which they have built cars for the Goodwood revival, amongst others, I think it will be an interesting day, If anyone would like to come along, please let me know by either phone, number at the top or email, details in the Courier, we need to know numbers to book lunch and C C K. and I will give details on where to meet.
That's all for this month next meeting is Wed July 3rd, hope to see you all then.
Cheers
Ian
