General Vitesse messages

Just sold my lovely Vitesse as chance for my dream car, a Stag came up. Just had one owner from new and is a very solid car indeed. Very little work done on it and it runs very well but can get a little hot under the collar if stuck in traffic. Has had a respray a couple of years ago, unfortunately they left the hard top on so when removed there is a little area of old paint. Only other problem is oil leaks from the rear engine seal and diff. Will tackle these in the winter. I also have a problem with the hand brake cotter oin hitting the exhaust though it only happens on initial take off then disappears. Someone told me the pin maybe in the wrong way round. Has anyone else encountered this ?
