Since I compiled the UK filter list that Garth quoted, I have sourced other locally available filters, my favourites being the Amsoil &
Mobil 1 Synthetic Filters, and the K&N Gold, not synthetic but a good filter nonetheless.
The numbers are:
Amsoil EAO57 (Synthetic & recommended)
Mobil M1-102 (Synthetic & recommended)
K & N HP1002 (Well constructed)
Fram TG3614 (included for cross-reference purposes only)
Fram PH3614 (avoid, unless no choice)
Carquest 85348 (probably U.S. only)
To look them up yourself, they are the same as those used on the 1997 Toyota 4Runner with the 3.4 Litre V6 DOHC engine and many other 1982-2003
Toyota & Lexus cars, (note my listing only goes up to 2003 but they were probably used afterwards), here is a list of Toyota engine
configurations and capacities that used the same filter.
V8 4.7L FI
V6 3.4L FI
V6 3.0L FI
V6 2.5L FI
6L 4.5L FI
6L 3.0L FI
6L 2.8L FI
4L 2.7L FI
4L 2.4L FI
4L 1.8L FI
Many SAABs also used them:
93 4L 2.0L FI 2002-1999
93 Viggen 4L 2.3L FI 2002-1999
95 Aero, SE, 95 4L 2.3L FI 2002-1999
96 Aero, SE, 95 V6 3.0L FI 2002-1999
900 4L 2.0L FI 1998-1986
900, 9000 4L 2.3L FI 1998-1990
900, 9000 4L 2.1L FI 1993-1991
Not to mention Yugos:
Yugo 4L 1.3L FI 1992
GV, GVX 4L 1.3L FI 1991-1990
GV, GVX 4L 1.3L Cb 1989-1988
GV, GVX 4L 1.1L Cb 1989-1986
I won't bother listing any of the U.S. market only makes & models.
I think we will be OK for oil filters on our cars for some time to come!

Léon,
Sorry for not crediting you for the list in the posting, I had the details on my computer but could not for the life of me remember where I
got them from.
No offense taken I hope?

Nope.
Sorry if my email came over rather curt, it was not meant to, but that is one problem with this faceless communication medium.

Hi Leon
Just read your post regarding the Fram Oil Filters
I have the PH 3614 type fitted to my Vitesse, have you had problems with Fram filters in the Past?
You've got me panicking that I may have un-filtered Oil circulating in my Engine!!
I bought this Filter off a reputable Triumph parts dealer as an equivelent to the Unipart Item.
Please advise if I need to change it?
Regards
Gary

Do not panic, the PH3614 fits and works, but is considered rather lacking in filter surface area and general construction quality.
They should be good for about 3,000 miles.
