Whilst having my Vitesse tuned up on Sunday preparing for its first mot in 20 years, it was low on petrol, when i took the cap off it was like uncorking a
bottle of champagne with a big release of air,i'm presuming this is not good?
Should the cap or tank have a breather to allow air out?,the cap is a locking one i bought on flea bay supposedly right for the car.
Cheers
Steve

has to be a vented cap or add a vent to the tank.. I ve seen lift pumps suck enough that atmospheric pressure flattens the tank
before it stops the engine ,, can you drill a 0.5 mm hole through the cap body parts,, rollover and spillage was not an issue when the cars were
built.. but you must vent it.. peter
