Hi Gary
Thanks for the comments
I can't weld or paint so the car went to Totally Triumph to have the work done. Canley did the gearbox and overdrive, mike papworth
did the diff. Cylinder head conversion and block was rebuilt by Max at Totally Triumph (runs like a dream) and I used other local
companies to sand blast basically every part then repaint. Carbs were rebuilt by Andrew Turner. One of the best people I have dealt
with. Loads of bits were sent to Andrew to be plated. Nothing is powder coated, everything is plated or painted as original (well
as close as, I hope!).
I got the car back as a rolling chassis. I refitted everything myself, engine ancillaries, wiring, lights, dash, carpets, seats,
chrome, brake pipes, petrol pipes, tank, etc etc etc which took about 5 months.
I have 3 lever arch folders full of receipts and stuff and have been adding it all up over the course of the restoration. I could
tell you how much I spent but let's not go there!!
It's so much fun to drive and all the positive feedback have made it worth while. In terms of it being a concours car, I may enter
it for a few events but cleaning the tyre tread with a toothbrush is just not my thing. It would be nice to win something
though.
I'll post an interior pic when I get the chance.
Cheers
David

I know what you mean about Concours, not really my cup of tea either, but I can see why people get in to it, I'm sure you would
win a few prizes with your car.
I do actually like cleaning and polishing my car, but much prefer driving it !!
Anyway, might bump into you in the future David, you could always get yourself booked in for next years Peak Run, down here in
Derbyshire, I guarantee you some marvellous scenery and enjoyable driving.
Cheers
Gary

Do I win a prize for suggesting the choke cable is missing?
And the press-studs for securing the tonneau cover at the windscreen end.

Hi chris
Well done for spotting the choke cable missing. Still waiting for a well known riumph supplier to get them back
in!!
I don't have a full tonneau fitted so no studs at the window I'm afraid.
No price I'm afraid!!
Cheers
David
