Several years ago I purchased a 1600 Vitesse with a "special" style body. Now that I have got the space to restore it I have a dilemma, No chassis plate or
V5. All I have is the Reg, Engine number and last tax disc. If I can match the eng no to a chassis via the Heritage motor centre how can I be sure it is
the same chassis?? Advice would be most welcome.

Hi Neil,
The Heritage Motor Centre as far as I know can only search for a vehicle by chassis number, so I doubt that you will obtain any info from them.
Please contact them to find out, and contact Trudi at TSSC HQ to see if she can help you obtain a current V5.

A British Motor Heritage production trace certificate can sometimes be done from numbers other than the usual commission number. They were very
helpful in finding details of a Spitfire 4 for me by it's body number, while I know other who have obtained traces from the engine number. I
understand that the search process is more difficult for them so you may be charged an additional fee.
Certainly worth asking.
Cheers,
Bill.
