If it's the car I think it is then it had a very high asking price and should be, in my opinion, tip-top with everything you'd expect of a top dollar
motor - ie very full service history, photos, bills etc. I haven't seen it but I know a man who has 
Having said that it doesn't have a huge effect on values for me but others may be different. If you are going to keep the car for a long time then the lack of any history isn't really a problem. If you want to move it on soon then it could be - maybe a negotiating point to bring the asking price down?
Seta diaphrams are available, as is almost every piece of interior trim. The diaphrams are only &163;17.75 http://www.canleyclassics.com/partfinder.asp?partn...
Put "SEAT" into the part finder and you'll see the availablity and part numbers of trim kits. Remember that Vitesse and Herald seats look the same but aren't

Hi Jason,
Many thanks for your very helpful reply. This car is in the right sort of condition for me - I have been looking for a Vitesse Mk II convertible with O/D in A1 condition for over a year now. There aren't many around so it is very hard to gauge the right price, but I agree the asking price for this one seemed a bit high.
I haven't owned an old car before but convinced the Vitesse is right one for me as I want an old 4 seat convertible and these cars look (and sound) great!
Feel slightly green when it comes to buying so would appreciate any tips! I've read all the buyers guides so a fair idea of how to check one out but still not completely sure what things are expensive/cheap to fix, and the right price to pay! In fact could you drop me a quick e-mail - mark@gallio.com - as I would appreciate your thoughts on this car if it is the same one.
