Car with no service history?

Posted By : Mark Pritchard, 06-Sep-2004, 10:03am

Hi,

I have seen a Vitesse that seems to be in very good condition. It's had a full restoration in the last few years and would seem that the restorer did a good job.

However it comes with no service history at all (other than most recent MOT). The lady selling it has sadly had her husband (who owned it) pass away recently so possible that the history has been lost somewhere.

How much of a problem is this? Does it affect valuation and/or ease of future resale?

Secondly, the rubber webbing under the driver seat has completely rotted away resulting in sag and a tear in the seat. Can this be replaced or does it need a new seat?

Thanks for any help.

Mark
