I recently bought a Mk 2 with a full set of Rostyle rims. Looks great, just like the 1970 brochure. However behind the trims are the filthiest set of
wheels I've ever seen. No indication of original colour. So please, once they are clean ( I know it's daft, but the rest of the car including the engine/
transmission is like new) what colour were they from the factory? The body is Valencia with black trim I need a project for the winter, so sorting the
wheels is an anorackie sort of job but more interesting than football on the telly! YME 887 H

Not absolutely sure and would need to consult the Mike Costigan originality book, but I seem to recall the wheels should be painted silver. Not sure if
there is an official wheel colour (there is for the white wheels on Heralds etc) but shouldn't make much of a difference when covered with rostyle
covers. Although I do not like Hammerite, I have had quite good results on wheels using silver Smoothrite.
