Hi All
My battery is shot (Halfords HB038) so I popped back into halfords to buy a new one but I am told they no longer stock the 038 model. There system shows an
heavy duty alternative of a HB015 which has a cold crank of 335amps and a reserve of 58amps.
Is this suitable for a standard dynamo driven Vitesse or should I go for something different?
Cheers
David

I have had bad experiences with Halfords batteries leaking, (on my concours bulkhead), in a very short time, so would not buy from them again if I were
you.
I fitted an Optima Red Top gel-filled sealed battery in January 2000, it is still there and still appears fine.
In my book that is pretty fine.
I couldn't find a yellow top (for infrequent starts) at the time, but it could hardly be better than my red top!
Technically, you can use any size battery that will fit in the available space.
Most Land Rover parts dealers can get Optima batteries.
Good Luck
