Hi all,
I have been thinking about installing a cigarette lighter in my vitesse to charge the mobile phone, run the coolbox when we're camping etc. I've searched
the message boards and found that part number 569116 (originally fitted to triumph 2000s) was an option. Does anyone know where I might get one of these?
Rimmers have a cigar lighter listed but it's £20!
Also, any advice as to how to fit the thing would be much appreciated. I was planning on installing it in a bespoke centre console along with a cd/player,
but not sure what wire I should be connecting it to.
Cheers
John

John,
Halfords still sell replacement cigarette lighters for about £5, or better still have a rumage at your local scrap yard. Unless your
dashboard has already been hacked about with, I would consider fitting the cigarette lighter behind the dashboard, so as not to spoil the look of the
original walnut dash.

I made up a centre console and mounted a socket on the side but under the dash . it was wired directly to the battery via an additional fuse using
heavy duty cable.

Not sure that Halfrauds do sell ciggie lighters. I'm after one as well (for the TomTom sat nav) - but a search of the local store yielded nowt.
Maplins might be a good bet though - and you can also get an in-line fuse for it there too.
