I have a problem with the fuel and temp gauges on my Vitesse.
When I turn the ignition on the gauges work, they will go to the position that I would expect them to. However, after about 30 seconds they will return to
the zero position and they do not work at all if I start the engine straight away. The car has been rewired.
Does anyone have any ideas why this is happening? if they do could they suggest how to go about fixing it. Auto electrics are definitely not my strong
point!!
Cheers.
Jonathan.

Sounds like it could be the voltage stabilizer which is faulty and requires replacing. This is a box screwed to the back of the speedo. You will have
to remove the speedo to replace it.

Many thanks for the advice.
I will try replacing it at the weekend.

WhenI bought my vitesse MK11 it was equipped with an alternator. as the ammeter did not seem to be doing its job,I was told to fit a voltmeter
instead of ammeter. I now have a voltmeter, courtesy of Stoneleigh. Does the wiring just need to be transferred or am I into great electrical
feats???? Malc.
