Hello chaps.
Can anyone help me with this. I bought 6 mths ago a 1967 MK1 Vitesse Convertible from the deceased original owners widow. I checked all the numbers against
the V5 but subsequently have found that the VIN number on the V5 has 2 of the 4 digits round the wrong way compared to the plate on the car. (HC1518CV on
V5, HC1581CV on car). I reckon that this is purely a typing error. The cars provenance with only 44k on clock with 1 owner is beyond doubt. How do I get a
V5 with the correct number?
Thanks Graham

Assuming you have the latest Blue/Green/Red V5 document, section 1 on the reverse refers to informing DVLA of inaccuracies. I have done this on several
occasions and DVLA have corrected the documents accordingly. I would estimate that about 35-40% of the logbooks I've had have contained at least one
error, probably when the original buff logbooks were transferred manually into the computerised system between 1977 and 1983. DVLA will have the
original logbook on microfiche and should be able to confirm any problem of this type,
Cheers,
Bill.
