Nobody answered my query first time around - can anybody help or provide guidance?
Hello - It's my first post - so here goes.
I am almost in a position to carry out an overdrive conversion and have only a couple of bits to obtain.
Are the modern speedo angle drives any good or shall I keep an eye on e-bay for an original (probably used) smiths unit? If I but a used drive what can
wear out and could it be refurbished easily?
Also does anyone have a o/d prop for sale?
Regards,
Neil.

Hi Neil,
sorry that nobody has answered. I am from Germany and just changed my Herald to o/d. There was no Problem with the old Speedo-drive until now. I
don´t see any problems with using a used one, but I know that they are rare and therefor not cheap. I don´t know the reason
why they are rare, but I don´t think it is for breaking.
Good Luck
Carl

I picked one up at Stafford three years ago for about £10 but that was a bit of a fluke. I think you would pay around
£25 for 2nd hand. Why not speak to Dave Pearson at Canley Classics he'll tell you what length prop shaft you need as well.
