Alec Gregg wanted to see my mod using a MGB gear lever gaitor
parts from www.mgocspares.co.uk bhh2049 gaitor £4 and ring ahc187 £7
seal gap between tunnel and tower with dense foam to stop hot air, plywood ring under carpet to flatten contour ,two rivnuts secure the front /rear to the
tunnel
the side fixing just into the ply looks neat with them red moulded carpets from sports car supplies peter/mick

Note also that there is a rather nice leather 'glove' that fits over the rubber concertina boot available from the MGOC, I got a black one, but they
may have them in other colours also.

leon amazing how that big chunk of sea never divides good ideas thanks Ill look out for a red one
I did have a DIY leather one but have just changed the interior from cactus to red , tried to stain it but it was really gross.sort of pink with
green stripes...in the bin now peter
just looked on www.mgocspares.co.uk and they do all colours £7.95

It's a bit more than a big chunk of sea, there's also a fairly big chunk of land in the way.

thanks guys, been and visited, feel a purchase coming on although I am tempted by the chrome ring for £10.50.

Hi Alex i only make it £7 + 1.56 postage wheres the £10.50 come from
the ring is quite contoured and does not easily form to the radius of the
gearbox tunnel top, I did try (not too hard) then went back to the plywood
flat insert under the carpet, even trying to roll it, it wants to kink at the fixing holes

yes i can see that one @£10 have a look in mgb -- grommets/matts/insulation items 20 &21
seems same part looking at mine its £7 ???? your choice ?? les wants to go to ace cafe
