When my car is very warm particularly on a hot day it will not start until it has been turned over repeatedly or left to cool.
I think it could be one of 2 things.
1.There is a very slight leak from the fuel pump and the heat is causing the fuel to evaporate when stopped though there is no unusual smell of vapour
2.The heat is vapourising the fuel in the supply line
Obviously I need to sort the fuel leak but I believe a heatshield should really sort the problem.
Carbs are Strombergs
Anybody any similar problems/answers?

If you have a failing condenser then this could be the problem - they break down when hot!
