  Another one to be wary of is the ordinary royal mail for small bits, I have waited a week before. A trick they use is to stick the card through your door, "you were out" when I was in, seen the postie come up the path but never knocked or rang as the parcel was back at the sorting office in town the whole time! They've served me with this one several times now, they just can't be bothered to deliver.

    Unlike a courier up here in Norfolk who left a new &163;600 digital camera under my garden bench with a bright yellow "We've left a parcel" card flapping from a door visible from the road !
    
    Found it 24 hrs after being left !

        More than my future home delivery happiness is worth (but it was from an electrical high street should that be retail park name beginning with 'c')
        
        Must agree , my Parcel Force guy is friendly, honest and helpful. Maybe a staff turnover issue with other couriers ?

          My Missus has started using an online courier website called senditnow.com for sending parcels when she sells anything bulky on ebay. senditnow actually use parcel force to collect and deliver but they are much cheaper than if you go to Parcel force direct, I guess they must receive a bulk discount from parcel force and pass it on.
          
          Well worth a try if you've got something bulky to send.

    Mine did the same, Dan - I chased him down the road waving the card out of the window....
    They also have the habit of leaving parcels inside whichever of my Triumphs is unlocked in the back yard, so I find them weeks later...

  have a porch which my parcels are left in but had a diferent postie one day got note saying put over fence, went round back of house and it was laying on patio round back where he threw it over fence! no surprise it was broken

    I get all my stuff delivered to work - that way it does not matter who delivers and there is always somebody to sign for the parcel. No more having to visit the parcelforce depot or trying to get things redelivered. Why are some of the parcel delivery firms so very unhelpful: "its in the truck but not sure which day we will deliver"; "please call the driver" driver can not seem to speak english; etc etc.

      I have placed a couple of orders with Paddocks during the afternoon, and the parts have been delivered next day as first class post.
      
      I can only assume teh posties mis-read the post-marks and forgot to add the statutory 3 days delay....

        This thread has cheered me up no end... it's so nice to know that other people have the same issues with these b******s! (Asterisks are to see if that is allowed! Just typing it doesn't seem to be though I really can't think of any other word adequate to describe these people!!!!!)

          Isn't it amazing that we all have had the same experiences with couriers/postie etc. Surely there must be a member who is employed in this business who could respond????

            Not just parcel carriers either. Royal Mail delivering to a friend of ours with shared path that then divides and forks to each house. At weekends, post left where path divides to get wet and blow around the garden.

              Parcel finally turned up with a very helpful delivery person. For some reason Target had to ask for directions - even though we were told by the depot they had tried to deliver 3 times in total!
              
              The driver showed us the paperwork the office give the driver to show the runs. The address is very clear however the contact number etc which are given by Paddocks to stop deliveries being late were on a label on the parcel in the rear of the vehicle - the address was with the driver in the front!
              
              The late delivery was not the drivers fault as the box had "deliver Tuesday" written on it in pen (next to the official 24hr delivery from the Thursday previous week)
              
              Lies from a parcel company are one thing but stupid lies with the evidence sent to the customer are another!
