Looking for a TR6... Good, Bad, or Ugly!

Hi there,

I've recently joined the TSSC (got signed up at the Classic show at the NEC the other week).

I'm looking for a TR6, but it seems there's an awful lot of bodged cars out there going for silly money.

As the title suggests, I'm not too worried about the condition - as long as the price is realistic, and the car is pretty much all there. Would even consider a bare chassis / body shell with all the other bits in boxes!

Any help finding the right car would be very much appreciated.

Welcome to the Club.

I notice from your profile that you live near Huntingdon.
If that is correct, then the best place for you to start looking for a TR6 is probably at TRGB in Somersham.

    David Aspinall of Anglian Triumph Services kindly got in touch with me about an abandoned project he'd just picked up.
    
    I'm pleased to say the journey over to Ditchingham was well worth while, and on Saturday afternoon I will be the proud owner of a 1973 TR6.... much of it in various boxes admittedly!
    
    Should give me something to do on the dark winter nights.

      My own TR6 was an abandoned project and pretty much came in cardboard boxes, plastic bags and floor-sweepings. The good news (for me) was that everything was dry stored and only a few things were missing. Quite a few things needed replacing though after twenty years in storage, hydraulic components etc., but everything is available.
      Be aware though that parts can be expensive and even components common to other Triumph brethren suddenly increase in value when they gain a TR6 sticker!
      
      It was my blue TR6 on the stand at the NEC by the way, you'll have seen it when you joined!
