Hello everyone can anyone tell me what the differnce is between the series 151 40 dcoe and the 18 series carbs as im planning to put a set on my tr6 and it
seems the 151 dcoe is the only ones out there u can get new.I did some digging and found theres a difference in stroke length for the accelerator pump but
it would be helpful if someone has had some hands on experince . Thank-you -------Cheers John in Alberta Canada

Not heard of series-151, but assume they are new.
I have been running 40DCOE-18's for many a year now on my Triumphs, since 1984 in fact! (Good god, that's 22 years!)
If the series-151 are indeed new ones, then they are actually made at a factory in Spain, and are not such good quality as the original sand-cast
aluminium series-18s.
All Webers can be rebuilt, unless damaged or severly corroded.
Hope that helps some
ps. if you want a list of jets etc to use, just email me and I will be happy to send you a detailed spreadsheet with multiple Triumph
applications.
Best Regards
Léon

-----thank-you leon -im getting the same feedback -18s are the carb to find but im having difficulty locating a triple set . Oh and yes the 151
are the new version i can get them brand new . Im also looking into the dellortos dhla they seem to come up on ebay fairly regular . Of course
i dont know much about them either in Canada there are very few if any wreacking yards here they crush all autos built before 1985 --so its
hard to find any used parts . Well thank-you agian -------John
