Hey there,
I have a GT6 with a TR6 PI 2.5 engine in it. It has the lucas injection system.
When I came back from buying it the other day I did not quite realise how much petrol it went through and how quickly, and it kind of gave a sort of jumpy
feel as if it were running out of petrol, with the fuel gauge very low. when I reached a petrol station I stalled and rolled into it (or maybe I totaly ran
out of petrol!!!)
I used it for a few more times that day and it worked really nice, but the last few times I have tried to start it, it won't! I try, but then just sort of
conks out before I gets running properly.
Yes the imobiliser is off, and yes I have the electrics turned on.
Has anybody had any problems like this before, and know how to sort it out. I am worried that it has lost pressure in the pressurised bit of the engine,
but do not really know much about how it works and am kind of jumping in at the deep end. Could it be a different problem? The guy I got it off showed me
how to bleed the injectors etc, but only while the engine was running and I cannot get it running at the moment.
David.

The problem you are having is fuel surge. Your fuel tank was designed for carbs not injection. Injection systems really require tank baffles / swirl
pot / anti surge tank.
Is your pump running ?
Where is your pump mounted ?
Where is your filter mounted ?
Both these items really need to be sited below the tank outlet.
I know a Lucas pump will work on suction. But it prefers not to.
On a Gt6 I find the best location for the pump & filter, underside L/H boot floor.
This location also keeps the pump cool.
If the line is air locked. Sometimes the only way to return supply break the main line joint at the metering unit put end of line into a jar and run
pump till fuel flow returns, switch off pump then reconnect.

Hi Laurence,
Got it running now. It was just me being an idiot! :-)
thankyou very much for your time and advice.
(Yeh my lucas fuel pump is in the left hand side of the boot at the back.)
