Help please!
It's been one of those days where I'm seriously considering taking up golf or something else totally unrelated to old cars.
It's just that I can't get a front drum brake shoe back on after replacing a brake cylinder. One shoe was taken off to replace a weeping cylinder. Attempts
to lever this shoe back into place has only served to force the end of the shoe to tear the rubber dust cap from the second brake cylinder, marvelous. How
do these damn shoes get replaced. The manuals simply state to attach the springs to the backplate and shoe then simply 'lift' into position. I have wound
down the cam adjusters and double checked the springs are fitted correctly.
Please reply before I feel the urge to begin wearing lambswool sweaters and checked trousers.
Graham.
