Hi,
I've just bought a door gap adjuster from the club shop, before replacing the sills on a GT6 Mk.3
As bought it prevents the door gap closing up, but doesn't prevent it from widening, although I seem to remember seeing an article (in the Courier ?) some
time ago about a modified one which works in both directions ?
Can anyone remind me where I will find it ?
Many thanks,
Richard

Before taking the sill off I made sure the gap was correct and then welded (large tacks) some 20 x 8 flat bar across the gap in two places. It did'nt
move at all. This can only work if the gap is correct to start with. If you are replacing the sill as part of a full rebuild then a few tack marks
don't matter, but if you are not respraying the area where the tacks go then it this method has obvious drawbacks.
Somtimes the best tech is low tech.
Don't want to teach grandmother to suck eggs, but when the sills go on make sure the bonnet has good panel gap to to the bulkhead top (near the
windscreen) and it sits at the right height, line the sill with the referance to the front wheel arch. This will help with panel gaps.
This comes to you via my own mistakes.
If anyone thinks this is rubbish and has better ideas then please let us hear your them. I am always ready to learn as we have mk3 spit that is about
to have it's new sill off because they are in the wrong place and after a lot of thought I think this will work.
