Gunson's testune analogue - anyone know how it works?

Hi,
I bought an analogue multi meter from e-bay for &163;5. Trouble is it came with no instructions...... (
It is analogue, has a multi layered scale and a selector knob (RPM, Dwell, Volts, Points, Ohms, Amps) - that bit seems clear.

My problem, as I've not owned one before, is how to connect it. It has two pairs of leads red/Black and Green/Black with crock clips.......

Advice appreciated and thanks in advance!

Most urgent task would be to check the dwell - discovered that my newly fitted points are so cheap and nasty the base plate bends when you try and adjust them using a flat screwdriver as a lever in the notch at the top.....

  i used to have one it had three lead a red went t plus black to minus and the smaller blue went to the minus onthe coil you could read dwell or rev at appropriate setting on dial dont know if yours is the s

  I've got one of these testers somewhere in my garage & I am pretty sure it has instructions with it. Assuming my memory is not playing tricks I can copy the instructions & send to you. I will dig it out over the weekend to check & post again to confirm.

    Hi Brendan,
    
    I have found my Gunson's device - it is a Gunson's Autoranger, late 70's vintage. It is an analogue scale device for use measuring RPM, dwell angle, charging voltage, current, continuity & resistance. There are 3 wires coloured red, black & blue.
    
    I have a full set of instructions with it, including the supplement on dwell angles for all makes of vehicle. If this is what you have & you want a copy of these instructions email me at tony@greytpets.net with your address.
