BW65 Autobox over heating in 2500TC ?

Posted By : Ken Sutherland, 12-Jun-2006, 08:24pm

Hi,

Just bought a 39k miles 1977 2500TC with the BW65 autobox and I seem to be having a wee problem...

This weekend on a long run (80-90miles) lost power and coasted to a stop to see dribble of transmission fluid on the ground after been stuck in traffic for some time. AA called (I had no transmission fluid with me and I was in the middle of nowhere !) relay home, filled autobox and car ran fine on short runs. Experienced similar problem yesterday again on another long run. Waited for the engine and GB to cool and refilled again with expensive transmission fuild and made it home.

I've been underneath the car and everything "looks" ok, but obviously there is a lot of oil about.

...any ideas ?

Thanks

Ken
