I wounder if anyone can help me? I've got this infuriating problem with the front carb on the mkl I have. I had to canabalise it to get my vitesse out of a
sticky situation. I'm not sure what they're called, the needle valve up in the top right hand corner of the float chamber, I swaped it over as it had gone
on the vitesse. On putting it back again, once the engine is running the carb aint. Engine runs rough and petrol streams out of the screw holes in the
float chamber. I've put a new valve in and no change. The floats in the float chamber are loose but it was working fine before....??? I can't think what
could be wrong???? Its driving me mad as I can't get the bloody thing moving!!!! The mkl has been sitting there waiting for some action for about a month
now. Any help will be very appreciated, Thanks.

It seems pretty clear that the needle valve is not sealing. This could be because it is not screwed in fully (but DON'T strip the threads!) or that the
float is not pushing correctly on the needle. The float pivots on a pin that can sometimes fall out if you take the thing apart. Check the pin is both
there and correctly seated, and that the needle valve is fully screwed home. Apply a little ptfe tape to the threads if there is a suggestion of
leaking round the threads, and make sure you use a new allow washer underneath the needle valve.

Chris, sorry about the long delay in answering (if you ever check this again) yes at last I have done what you suggested and it worked. I had to
take the carb off and give a good old clean as well but it works fine now. Only problem now is the brakes have ceased. Got one loose, the other one
has decided to dump brake fluid all over the road.....Oh well, joys of truimph motoring I suppose. More work to do. Anyway cheers mate. Finn
