I have the 2.5 S alloy wheels. They are not lacquered or painted (except for the black bits on the spokes).
3 of them lose 4 psi in a fortnight, one loses 10 psi and the other is completely flat after 2 days (this one leaks loads between tyre and rim). The tyres
are quite new.
I'm not sure how to fix this. I could probably get the wheels shot blasted and completely painted. This would stop the ally corrosion, but I don't know if
this would in turn stop the leaks? Alternatively I could get some more wheels to replace the 2 really bad ones, but they might not be any better.
Anyone know what to do with these?
Thanks
Van

Van, from your dexription, it sounds to me as though the culprit wheels have either got duff valves or they have gone porous. This is not unknown with
alloys of this age. Could be the time has come to bite a bullet and get some new ones. however, you might also want to consider getting them checked
for run-out or some type of deformation around the tyre bead area on both edges. All a pain because it means removing the tyre and rebalancing. Good
luck

I'm not up with current legislation but could you fit tubes?

I had the same problem on my 2500S and tubed the tyres, on mine the tyres were leaking on the bead due to corrosion. O Tubes workoK but any
rough spots on the wheel will wear out the tube fairly quickly. Finally I bought anothre set to re-condidtion while still driving the car , but
never got round to it. As I have sold the car, they are now surplus to requirements. ( make me a derisory offer if you like!)
I think that the only permanent solution is re-conditioning which around my neck of the woods costs about £30 each and they go
away for a fortnight or so.
