Don't know about the front, as i've still got the originals in it.
In the back the PO fitted some inertia belts from a Lada. They kept a sleeping passenger alive when we crashed into the back of a TR4a once! The reels
are mounted on the parcel shelf, although i haven't investigated any further than that.

Inertia reel seat belts are available from the club shop. My own 2000 MkII is now fitted with intertia belts at the rear as well as a centre static lap
belt. Whilst they weren't purchased from the club, they certainly fit well. The down side is having to cut a 10mm bolt hole through an otherwise
perfect rear parcel shelf. For those not knowing, the inertia reel sits on the parcel shelf and all bolt holes are already in place and threaded ready
for the standard fitment bolts.
You don't say whether you are intending to buy a MkI or MkII either way Securon, where my belts came from, should almost certainly be able to help ad
advise, they are after all seat belt specialists.

Hi Mark,
We have inertia reels fitted in our 1968 Mk1 2000, front and rear. Maybe not what you will be able to find readily as ours are NOS Britax kits probably
of the same age as the car, my observations may help though.
The front belts are no problem, except that the lower outer mounting sits well back on the sill. This makes the run of the belts slightly angular and
occasionally makes the belts lock in the parked position. This is an irritation, and I fully intend to re-site the reels on the base of the B-post so
the run becomes vertical. Other than that the belts are excellent.
The rear belts were problem free, except that to fit the reel on the right hand side required re-siting of the factory fitted mounting point. Cutting a
new mounting hole was complicated by the original strengthening plate which intruded partially into where the new hole went! The installation looks
good and the belts sit straight on the seat back when retracted.
We have used a Britax Freeway in our 2000 without problems. It worked well with the original type static belts, but ensuring that the buckles didn't
sit against the frames was tedious. As our lad has got bigger we've now progressed to a simple booster cushion without problems.
One further observation on child seats. You will probably find that a child is far happier in the back of a 2000 than in most modern cars. Other than
their obvious feeling of being in a quality vehicle, we put this down to the higher seating position giving a better view of what's going on in the
world outside.
Cheers,
Bill.
