Mike,
I didn't know that you-all got a wake up call when I contribute!
But I don't think that the ignorant will be stopped by this - it's more important for others to know that certain people do speak with authority. On
other sites certain people are appointed as the 'moderator' of each forum. In some sites they are censors, of language in particular.
If it was clear that the Register Sect., or you, were the moderator, then it would be clear to everyone that your opinion/statements had more authority
than A.Newbie Esq.
The InterNet is about everyone having an equal voice. It's up the the rest of us to recognise that some voices are more equal than others!

Hi John,
Genereally speaking the Forum moderators don't interfere with the advice given on their forum. They normally seek out abuse and bad language, a
usually reprimand the offenders - or lock the discussion thread.
The site has a disclaimer about the advice given on the forum and that should be enough. Even a complete novice could have a snippet of great
advice, and even an experienced mechanic can say something stupid (or dangerous).
Example, on another site/thread (i forget where) an experienced mechanic suggested a proceedure that would throw fuel over a hot exhaust manifold
to check if delivery was okay!!!
And I never considered scraping my fingernails over abar of soap before beginning work - until reading Johns Post (I know John isn't a novice -
he's quicker than me anyway - Both racers)
Mike's forum is some what different however, it's more of an 'Ask the Expert' forum as these questions are directed at an authority figure. SO
there are expections.
One thing Craig is probably already considering is an Email alert for when anyone replies to your post. But not all replies to a thread - have you
noticed how they got off topic within a few replies? - this is normal ;-)

Mike,
The MessageBoard is one of the most popular sections of the TSSC website. Unfortunately the MessageBoard has quickly become a victim of it's own
success.
We are currently working on several new features, including a "Member Profile", where members can provide optional contact details, position within the
Club, photograph, etc. To make messages easier to view, we will also be added a "view entire thread" option.
With reference to MessageBoard moderators, this would be welcome, although I must point out that not all Register Secretaries are online, or have the
time to moderate messages to the 'Board.
However, if anyone has any comments or suggestions, I'm all ears.
Thanks and regards
Craig
