A mate of mine has a Stag that he is converting from Auto to overdrive manual. No problems with flywheels clutches or the general fitting. What has stumped
him / us is the Wiring loom for the box.
He has two wires from the Gear stick switch, One red, One black both have nothing on the ends of them.
As a seperate piece of wiring he has a 'Loom' consisting of 2 Green wires and 3 Yellow Purple wires.
Where do these go? (Idiots guide please as I struggle to understand the Haynes wiring diagrams.)
I am happy with identifiying the various components - Inhibitor switch, reverse switch, solenoid etc.
Many thanks in advance.
Phil.

Hi Phil
Please bear in mind I do not have a Stag or a wiring digram, the haynes wiring guide are tricky but you should be able to work out which wire attaches
to which component.
It's likely the red & black wires go to the Overdrive switch on the top of the gear lever.
The green & purple wires will attach to the Inhibitor switch, reverse switch, solenoid etc, thats the tricky bit, you will need to identify which
wire goes where. A fairly simple process with a meter, a length of wire and being able to trace from the diagram what you expect to be the correct
wire.
If your still having trouble, send me a good scan / photocopy of the correct wiring diagram for the car and I'll try to help you from that.
My address details are in a recent Courier prior to July 2006 ( Int Event Mgr )
Cheers

You may find the woring is different depending on whether you have A or J type overdrive as the A type needs a relay (I think) and the J type does
not and so you can simply wire the operating switch and inhibitor switch in series.
