Hi All,
I've just had a letter from the DVLA about the commision number (VIN) on my MOT Certifictae not mathing the number on my V5.
Basically the MOT tester has put an extra 0 on the end of the VIN. I checked the car and there is a '0' after the comission number but there is a space
between it and the VIN.
Does anyone know what this 0 is for? Am I correct in assuming that it isn't part of the VIN. (My car is a 1980 Spitfire 1500.)
Cheers,
Paul

Paul
If you mean that your VIN was of the form
FM xxxxx O
Then yes, the O is part of it as it signifies Overdrive.
Cheers

Hi Colin,
So should my log book show the VIN number as FH xxxxxx 0 as currently it doesn't show the '0'
Cheers,
Paul

Mine's got an 'O' as well. It indicates that the car was fitted with overdrive as standard.

Hi George,
Does your V5 show the O on the commision number?
Thanks,
Paul
