General Spitfire messages

Well like it says above really. Haven't even seen the little beasty yet. long story involving phone calls and a member's mother losing patience after 4 years and wanting her drive back! The thing is, it has a roll cage fitted at present which would rather get in the way for everyday driving. If the sills need work (and I don't know this yet but undretand that the tin worm have been busy) would it act as a fairly good brace to keep the body straight or would I be better removing it in case it givs me a false picture of the car's integrity?
