This is probably a stupid question, but having the need to renew my slave cylinder, at least the oil has kept the underside of the car from rusting!!. I
have the car up on ramps, the clamp bolt is released, but the slave will not pull out. Am I missing something? Is there a "pull the old slave cylinder out
tool" or is it just a knack. Please help, no clutch means no MOT, means no driving.

You say that the clamp bolt is "released" - does this mean that you have loosened the nut so that it is no longer pinching the cylinder, or have you
removed the bolt completely. Toget the cylinder out, you need to fully remove the bolt.

No need to appologise, I know how frustrating such problems can be.
Does the cylinder feel loose in the clamp ?
If it still feels tight, there could be some corrosion holding it in.
Or you could try opening the clamp a little bit with a screwdriver.
The theory says that once the bolt is removed, it should just pull out.
Have you disconnected the hydraulics yet ?
Do they work well enough to try and push the cylinder out by pressing on the clutch pedal ?
