Hi All
I have just started my 1500 Spit up after 2 years while I have had the body off etc, I havnt touched the engine or gearbox in that time other than to bolt
them together and stick them back in the car as they were working fine before I took the car apart!
My problem is that I get a terrible grinding and crunching when trying to get the car in gear, it does go in eventually and is easier as things warm up, it
seems that the clutch is not fully doing its thing.
I have bled the air out of the clutch line and am using dot 4 fluid.
Anyone got any thoughts as to what my problem(s) could be?
Oh, I dont think I have much if any oil in the gearbox but that shouldnt stop me getting the car gear, could it?

If the clutch has been unused in two years I suspect it has partially seized, not unusual. Try 'riding' it to polish it. If there is no sound of
distressed thrust bearings well and good. Could be the 'annul' (?) bearing of the gearbox input shaft which locates in the flywheel being dry or
seized. Could be wrong of course!.

Hi Chris...how's the Herald?... get the box full of oil, after taking it out and copper slipping the flywheel bearing, and the thrust bearing, and the
input splines. If it still rattles then I'm afraid it may be gearbox bearings.
