Hi,
Just an advisory note to warn anyone who has just bought a speedo cable for a 1500 overdrive spit from Canleys.
If you have - check it before fitting as I now have 2 here that are full of....wire wool! Just the job for a smooth speedo reading - and oh! so easy to fit
too!
To be fair - Canleys are now aware and checked their stock and found they were also contaminated. They will be sorting with suppliers.
Trouble is - I'm stuck without one and other companies want a fortune for one. Anyone know of a cheap (and quick) supplier?
Cheers,
Andy

Hi Andy:
Your note interested me because I replaced my cable with a new Canleys item in April, hoping to cure a wobbling speedo.
It made no difference. I have subsequently put a drill on it at the gearbox end... still bad..... and the cable feels sticky to turn.
I'm told that it is rare for speedo heads to fail, and my drill test seems to rule out the angle drive.
Could this be a case of the mutant wire wool?
Regards,
Lindsay
