OK, now I am at home, I can check my oil filter lists:
My engine is 1971 Vitesse Mk.2 2-Litre,
I do not use the original paper Unipart GFE131,
I am using the MOCAL oil filter adaptor:
In the UK, I used, (in order of preference), the following:
Unipart GFE173
Halfords HOF200
Champion C104
Crosland 529
Motaquip VFL123
Here in the USA, the above are not available, so instead I use, (in order of preference):
K&N HP1002
Fram TG3614
Fram PH3614
Carquest 85348
The much vaunted 'non-return valve' is in fact nothing more than a thick rubber flap located immediately behind the small holes in the
bottom of the filter!
Hope this helps

Your local branch of Halfords must be different to mine! Had a refit & now catering exclusively for boy racers.
Motorworld down the street is just as bad, took me WEEKS to wheedle a jar of coppergrease out of them recently. The manager
looked about 13...
Thank god for summer when I can get stuff at rallies, yesterday got some Duckhams Q for £8.50 a gallon or last
years record bargain 3 jars of LM grease for a fiver. At that price I don't care if its nicked...

I have just got back from 2 weeks in Sri Lanka.
On the day we left I changed the oil and used the Coopers filter with the NR valve.
Tonight I started her up and NO rattle!
NR valves rule OK?
