Question from a Triumph beginner

Posted By : James Holladay, 20-Apr-2005, 10:19pm

Having wanted one for ages I have recently bought my first spitfire. It is in very good condition and a joy to drive.

After tearing around the countryside, I notice that a small amount of oil is deposited underneath when parked. The amount is negligible and it appears to be left just after the car is parked (and is still cooling down). It does not seem to carry on dripping once it has cooled down.

With apologies for my ignorance, but I was wondering if this is normal. A colleague at work who owns and runs an MGB (misguided fool) suggested that this is usual for spitfires. Is he right, or is talking rubbish?
