Hi I really want to know whats the best heater box/maytrix to use in my spit mk2.
I want max heat as I can always turn this of if its to much,
does the spit mk4/1500 maytrix fit in the spit Mk1/2/3 heater box, or can I just fit the hole spit mk4/1500 box into my spit mk2??
I know the mk4/1500 uses cable for its opening and closeing and I did not want to fit these, I wanted to just fit the maytrix out of the mk4/1500 in my mk2
heater box,
I know the mk4/1500 use biger pipes for the window demister, and I was going to weald bigger outlets on to my mk2 heater box so I could fit these, but is
the maytrix any bigger or does it flow more and give more heat??
also would a GT6 heater be any better and would it be a stright fit??
What to do???

Just incase any Mk1/2/3 spit owners want to do this. I have just done my own.
The mk4 and 1500 type heaters fit straight into a Mk1/2/3.
make sure you use the hole heater box, as you cant fit the matrix from a late type to an early type box.
Note that there is to type heaters for the mk4 and 1500, both look the same, but one uses bigger oulet pipes, so go for this one.
you must also use the window dash demister outlets as these to have the bigger bore to match the heater.
both latter type have a twin speed motor, so a two speed swich will need to replace your single switch.
other than that, all you will need to do, is use a choke type knob for the open/close of the feet vents (the mk1/2/3 had hand operated flaps)
It realy is a simlpe mod, well worth doing. on thoughs cold winter days with the top down, you wont regret it.
good luck
