1st Heater:
It could be that the valve is adjusted so that it never completely switches off. This is very easy to fix, just disconnect/loosen the cable (valve
end), push the valve to 'off' (the off position is in the direction of greatest resistance) it should click into place, then ensure the dash heater
setting is set to cold, and reconnect cable to valve. I had the opposite problem on my '77 1500, and soft top cars with no heater are no fun at all in
the winter!
Boot Trim:
I was also fed up with everything I put in the boot coming out waxoil fresh so have trimmed the whole boot with home-made panels etc. I fixed the side
panels in place with screws and small threaded backing plates bought in a set from Halfords. If you look inside the rear wings there are small holes
(for a tool kit locator? they seem to serve no purpose), if you slide one of the plates into position, put in a screw with a dot of paint on then line
up the trim card.. you will have marked the place to drill a small hole for the screw! Magic! If you don't like the sound of drilling holes in your new
cards, why not stick them in place with Velcro, you can get strips with adhesive on from sewing shops, department stores and probably Halfords!
good luck!
