I have just purchased a set of inertia reel seatbelts from the club shop for my 1973 Spitfire.....I can not for the life of me work out how if at all to
fit them. I do not want to do any drilling as I bought them from the club thinking that they would be able to be fitted using the existing holes of the old
statics.
Problems I see happening is that the retractor reel prevents the seat from being put back to any point beyond half way and whilst this is not a problem for
my short legs it would obviously be a real problem for anyone else.
I am at the stage that I will be sending them back with a letter expressing my annoyance, or is it just me.
Please has anyone else fitted these belts supplied from the shop, if so could you help. Mabey even e-mail me a photo, my email is

It's just you!!! *smiley*
The inertia reel fits at the bottom of the wheel arch (inside) the car where the standard rear belt bolts in... it then run up to the buckle at the top
an then to the belt latch and finally back across he seat to the floor mount. The inertia reel must be fitted absolutely vericle otherwise it won't
work properly.
I think you may be trying to fit your backwards... *tongue out smiley*
