I have a late (1980) spifire 1500.
I have noticed that the fuel pump has been leaking around the rim. I removed the top and reseated it which cured that but it started leaking from the screw
at the top. I noticed that there is no gasket on this just a metal washer so I'm not quite sure why it didn't leak before (I've obviously disturbed
something). I have got around this by putting a small 'O' ring around the screw. This all seems a bit of a botch.
I would like to either buy some new seals, which I can't find, or a new pump. I have heard howevere that the later repro pumps are unreliable (Canley won't
sell them).
Can anybody give me some advice?
Many thanks

try a hard fibre washer & dont overtighten the screw, the O ring may be a little soft to get the cap to seal at the rim where your leak started
from and more tightening will squig the o ring out from under the screw head,, some had a hard plastic washer.
just some thoughts ,,, peter
