Fuel leak from Pump Overflow

Hi,

I've recently noticed a drip of fuel which appears to be coming from the fuel pump overflow pipe. It seems to happen after you switch off the engine, and its only a few small drips.
Could this be a sign that the pump is on its way out perhaps? or something else?
Any advice, as usual, gratefully appreciated.

Hi Debbie

Can you be more precise about which pipe the petrol is dripping from? The fuel pump on my Spitfire doesn't have an overflow pipe: just one pipe in from the fuel tank and one pipe out to the carbs.
