I read in one of the Courier mags about soldering a boss into the base of the radiator to accomodate an electric sensor.I would like to try this but can
anyone suggest the sensor that would be best to use. My car is a Spitfire 1500.

Sensor selection is a matter of personal prefrence as various temperature setings (marked on unit) are available, The best advice I can give you is to
try a common type from breakers and work from there.
I know Fiesta T stat housings have been used on Heralds this is threaded for sensor and may save you from messing with the rad.

Hi Laurence,
Thanks for the advice. I will try a Fiesta sensor but I'm not sure if I have enough clearance under the bonnet.

James
I sort of suspected a clearance issue "Just a thought"
One more idea again to save messing with the rad. A sensor can be fitted into a joiner pipe this is a section of metal pipe fitted into the
bottom rad hose with sensor boss welded into it, this can either be frabricated up or bought.
I think Demon Tweeks sell them.

Laurence,
Thanks i will give Demon Tweeks a call.
Do you have any thoughts on the extra feed pipe that can be fitted oil pressure switch outlet and then up to the rocker shaft to give a
better oil supply to them.
