  Hi,
  The bumper on your car looks correct for a mk3 Spit, the bonnet looks like a GT6 mk1 as it only has vents on the top panel. On the GT6 mk1 the bumper was mounted lower down so that the lights were above it. A mk1 GT6 bumper would make everything look ok ( I am assuming all the mounting brackets are the same ).   Looks like you have a GT6 Mk1 bonnet. The bumper to match would be for that or a Mk1 or 2 Spitfire. Blade is probably the same or similar to a Mk3 Spit; that is not the problem, the problem is the mountings which have the bumper below the grill, level with the lower valance. Since these and the overrider mountings are on chassis brackets, these would probably have to be changed to mount the bumper at the lower level.

    Bear in mind that the pimple lights (like you have) and the mk3 spit lights (square) sit in the same place, so there isn't any real difference in where ther lights are now to where they should be with that mk3 spit bumper.
    
    Also if you have a mk1 gt6 bonnet, it won't fit onto a mk3 spit (like you have) without either the bonnet tubes being changed (hinge part on the bonnet) to MK3 spit ones. Or if you keep the mk1gt6 bonnet tubes you have to cut and weld on the corresponding chassis hinge bits (BTDT).
    
    To all intent and purpose it looks like yours is all mk3 spit (including hinges and bonnet tubes) and only the bonnet shell is gt6 mk1.
    
    So if you wanted to put the lower bumper on it would need custom brackets as you don't have the mk1/2 spit bonnet hinges that they fit to. You have mk3 spit bonnet hinges that your mk3 spit bumper fits to at the moment...... and both arrangements are different and not readily interchangeable between hinges and bumpers.
    
    All from personal experience as i have a GT6 mk2 with the MK1 spit front bumper fitted.....

        Note it's a GT6 MK2 bonnet,
        with the square lights changed for round ones
        with a mk1 spit bumper, hinges, bonnet tubes, grill, grill surround
        with a kitch spoiler (hence outer edge bumper bolts to custom bracket as not to drill hole in spoiler!)

  Thanks for all the advice, is there anything I can do which doesn't involve cutting and welding to get rid of those awful cut-outs over the lights? Could I move the side lights and indicators or something? Also, looking at various pics of MK 1 and II bumper set-ups the bonnet hinges and bumper fixings look to be in the same place, it's just the bumper is lower down, is this not the case?

    looks like you may have a GT6 mk1 bonnet with a gt6 mk2 bumper (with associated bumper cut outs)

    I'm sure I've read that some early MkIII Spits (with rectangular lights) had MkII bonnets with plates to convert the two round holes to one rectangular one. Maybe you could copy the idea & use std MkIII lights & bumper.

        The round lights are larger, top to bottom, than the rectangular ones. So they come higher up, that's why the cutouts are there. Personally I'd replace the bumper with one of the same type (GT6 Mk2/Spit Mk3) and move the lights down. You'll need to do a bit of filling and painting and stuff but it's all below the bumper so it won't be obvious if it isn't 1st class. I had round indicators on my GT6 for a few years, because the panels rusted away and I welded plates over, and round lights were easier to fit than rectangular ones. Looked fine, and they were definitely lower than yours.
