Hi
I bought a hood from the club about 1 year ago & now I want to have ago at fitting it to my spitfire, the problem is the lack of fitting instructions
so I consulted the Triumph Restoration book. The book shows the retainer plate being bolted to the rear deck, my original hood had a flat plate inside a
long pocket below the rear window minus any bolts, was this a standard set up on some spitfires, any help will be appreciated
cheers Dave

What mark Spitfire?
On the MkIV/1500 the retainer plate is standard & has two bolt holes but is an angle profile (see pic). Take the one off your old hood & glue
it in the new one. Offer it up to the car & carefully mark exactly where it should go before glueing (it may not be perfectly central!). Note that
it has a slight curve to it.
Good luck!
