movement? all ideas helpfull, instructions seem a bit vague as well.

Sounds like its not been made to allow for 'top up' driving and probably has to be removed when doing so
I 'd hate to think how much it cost, I made one and sold to any one who asked for one.( see classified www.southyorks-tssc.org.uk)

Hi,
I've just bought a wind deflector from Rimmer as well, and have had very similar problems. The thing looks great when you get it out of the box and
you can imagine it will set the car off nicely for top down driving. However, it doesn't come with any instructions and when you come to fit it it
doesn't seem to be possible.
I have just managed to fit mine. The trick seems to be to fit it while the top is up (or at least partly up) and then lower the top around the wind
deflector. It's still a very tight squeeze and none too pretty but it can be done.
To fit it you need to undo the 2 upper retaining bolts of the three that secure the hood frame bracket. Attach the little metal plates by screwing
the hood bracket screws back in. There is a 'tail' on the metal plates. Not entirely sure which way round this should go but I attached it so that
the tail rests alongside the 3rd bolt on the hood frame bracket. Now you can attach the wind deflector mounting arms to the wind defender itself
and slide it into the two metal plates you've just attached.
I believe you're supposed to mount it so that the vinyl cover on the wind deflector reaches down to the floor panels behind the seats and can be
attached with the poppers provided. I didn't like that idea though because it covered my rear speakers (the only ones that work currently!) so I
mounted the wind defender backwards on the mounting arms. I used the elastic clips to gather up the vinyl and clip onto the hood frame.
Only trouble is there is still some interference with the hood frame which means that can't be lowered as far as without the wind defender. It's
still down enough to put the hood bag on but only just!
All in all I can't say I'm too impressed with the product but it can be fitted with a bit of messing about.
