I'm trying to fit a new (aftermarket) hood stowage cover to my 1500, but I am unable to obtain the three elasticated staps that secure the cover to the
car.
Can anyone tell me what they look like, and how and where they fit?
Thankyou.

What 3 elasticated straps... mine's just got poppers.

Mine has the three straps already stitched on. They are on the bottom edge as it sits on the car, i've always just hooked them onto the folded hood
frame which you should be able to feel for if you fold the hood itself as per the manual and lay the fabric out over the boot first, fold the frame
then lay the fabric on top. Not sure if thats correct but i can't see anything else to do with them. If you need a photo i'll try to take one but
they are nothing special and could probably be quite easily made.

Thankyou Ian and David for taking the trouble to reply to my latest dilemna, I'm sure that I will have many more over the next few months.

Normally you find two types of (soft-top) Spitfire hood covers; origonal, hook style and modern/cheaper, popper style.
The origonal Triumph covers had 3 tabs stitched along the bottom edge of the cover with metal hooks at the ends. You poppered it around the
rear deck, then hooked the hooks up in underneath the folded hood and over any part of the folded hood frame that came to hand.
The modern/cheaper versions have the same 3 elastic tabs, but with poppers at the ends. They should also come with 3 other half of the
poppers for you to fit to your car - I assume 2 are to replace the rolled-up rear screen securing poppers and the third...
In my experience the poppers stay attached until I pull on my seat belt to buckle up. Not very useful. As my current hood is of the
pairs-of-flaps-that-loop-around-the-hood-frame-and-popper-to-each-other, not the more origonal one-flap-that-poppers-to-the-frame type
fitting one of more of the hood cover poppers to the frame so I can popper the cover to the frame is on my list of jobs to do.
